From 19th February Annabel’s Deliciously British Daffodils will be available through Booths Supermarkets.
I am passionate about bringing you the very best our wonderful countryside has to offer, and the daffodils are no exception. We are using heritage varieties that are rich in colour and offer something a little different to a commercial bunch. We will also be making a donation to Marie Curie for every bunch sold.
Since arriving in Britain in Roman times, the Daffodil has long represented new beginnings and the coming of better weather and of course celebrations such as Easter & Mothers Day. Legend says daffodils are associated with cheerfulness and when they are presented to someone as a bunch, it is meant to provide happiness. However, if they are only given as a single flower, it is meant to mean misfortune! Who doesn’t want to give a little happiness this spring?
A top tip for presenting Daffodils, they release latex from their stems once they are cut which can shorten the life of other flowers. We recommend using all stems in one large vase for a sunny and bright bouquet.
