Strawberry season 2022 – looking back on an incredible summer!
This month another strawberry season came to a close on the farm, and what a season it has been in 2022. Spanning from mid-May to mid-October, this season we’ve produced an incredible 893,106 punnets of strawberries!

This year we’ve welcomed several new stockists and continued to supply many of your favourites. We’ve also enjoyed welcoming some of our customers and local chefs to the farm. These included Wellocks, Delifresh Ltd., V Or V Restaurant, and 20 Stories Manchester, to name a few. As well as a great visit from Spinney’s Dubai! During these visits, they tasted our wonderful strawberries and we shared what goes on behind the scenes at the farm.

In June, Annabel’s Deliciously British became a member of Deliciouslyorkshire, a membership organisation that makes it its mission to support as many Yorkshire food and drink businesses as possible. Every year, they also host the Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards. We’re thrilled to have our strawberries nominated for the “Best Fresh Produce”, as well as our Strawberry Chilli Chutney nominated for “Best Savoury Condiment”.

Other award nominations in 2022 (so far) include:

In August, we had the pleasure of sponsoring the Northern U18 BE100 team during the British Eventing Youth National Championships. They looked fantastic in their Annabel’s Deliciously British rugs, and they came a commendable 6th against some tough competition!

It’s also been a summer filled with exciting television appearances, such as ITV Tonight in June. Annabel then had the pleasure of being a guest on Channel 5’s “Summer On The Farm”, showcasing our fantastic strawberries, and some of our recipes too. This was shortly followed by an interview with ITV Calendar at The Great Yorkshire Show.

“As we see another British strawberry season come to an end, please remember that you can purchase our fruit all year round by buying our jams and chutneys. Did you know 99% of English Jams use Chinese or Polish fruit? Please support the best of British, it’s crucial to our future and survival, and you “the consumer” are the ones who can really make a difference!” – Annabel

It’s safe to say that this year’s strawberry season has been memorable. And while fresh Strawberries may no longer be on sale, you can still enjoy their great taste in our range of preserves which are all available in our online shop.
