This month saw the end of another strawberry season, and we can’t help but reflect on the wonderful memories and remarkable milestones that Annabel’s Deliciously British has experienced this year. This strawberry season was even bigger than last year, and we produced over 1 million punnets of strawberries!
We’ve welcomed more new stockists, not just for our strawberries, but for our conserves, chutneys and honey. During this season, we welcomed more of our customers to the farm, including Delifresh Ltd. and Radisson Blue Hotel Leeds who now stock Tame & Wild Drinks. Once again, we got to show our guests the work we do at Annabel’s Deliciously British, and they got to taste some of our delicious berries.
Summer 2023 saw us gain some important milestones for Annabel’s Deliciously British. We’re thrilled to announce that our strawberries made their way into Waitrose, reaching even more tables across the UK. Our commitment to quality and British produce was then further acknowledged when we recently won the “Food Producer of the Year Award 2023” in the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards 2023. We also achieved the One Carbon World Carbon Neutral International Standard, underlining our dedication to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint.
This year also saw us attend a number of exciting events. We had the pleasure of attending a number of prominent events, such as the Bramham International Horse Trials, Daylesford Farm Summer Festival, and The Big Harewood Garden Party to name a few. These events allowed us to connect with our community, share our love for British produce, especially our strawberries. Another highlight was our collaboration with Sloemotion distillery, who released their Strawberry Spirit Drink earlier on in the year. As part of this, we the strawberries for their Strawberry Spirit Drink, using our own “wonky”. It was a delightful partnership that not only showcased the versatility of our berries but helped us achieve our zero waste and sustainability objective. Collaboration was very much a theme of 2023, and another that we were (and still are) incredibly proud of is our collaboration with Bettys tea rooms. Bettys now use our honey within their delectable cakes.
A Note from Annabel
A few quieter months lead us into the Christmas holidays before the excitement of our Yorkshire forced rhubarb and British daffodils start! Look out for them to brighten up yours days In January and February.
Thank you to our customers and consumers who continue to support “Annabel’s Deliciously British” our family business. Those who share our respect, values and loyalty to buying British food and supporting the UK farming community. We strive to make a difference and be better at what we do, but without your support and encouragement to bring better quality and more sustainable products to the table we would not have a business.
Whilst we bid adieu to the 2023 strawberry season, you can still enjoy the great taste of our strawberries within our range of conserves and chutneys. We’re excited about the future and all the possibilities it holds, and look forward to more great collaborations and events, and championing British produce in 2024.
